Peter Mulvey

I am a highly experienced physiotherapist who qualified in 1999 and has worked in diverse healthcare settings across multiple countries. In 2005, I earned a Master’s degree in Advanced Physiotherapy and Physiology from UCL, London, which provided me with a strong foundation in evidence-based practice and cutting-edge techniques.

During my career in London, I worked in prestigious university hospitals, specialising in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic rehabilitation. These roles gave me extensive experience in managing complex cases and tailoring rehabilitation programs to help patients achieve their goals.

After returning to Northern Ireland in 2018, I worked in Maxillofacial and Plastics Department at the Ulster Hospital. While managing trauma cases, I successfully initiated and ran a year-long pilot program for vestibular rehabilitation, which had a significant impact on patients with balance and dizziness disorders.

Chartered Physiotherapist

I am actively involved in advancing physiotherapy education in Northern Ireland. As a member of the education committee for the ACPIVR (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Vestibular Rehabilitation), I have contributed to several training courses. Additionally, I am a member of ACPTMD (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists Interested in Temporomandibular Disorders), reflecting my expertise in treating complex jaw and facial conditions.

My professional ethos centers on ethical practice, patient education, and fostering self-management. I am passionate about empowering patients to take charge of their recovery while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic approach.

Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, learning new languages, exploring diverse cuisines, and spending time with my family and dog. These interests reflect my love for connection, discovery, and balance in life.
